Serve on WHQR's Board

Wilmington’s hometown NPR affiliate is looking for individuals who can draw on their professional expertise, their commitment to community service and their belief in the power of public radio to serve on our Board of Directors. We are seeking a diverse group from our members and supporters who will commit to monthly meetings, committee responsibilities and will assist with fundraising. If you believe that public radio helps engender a well-informed community and supports the values of civil discourse and artistic endeavor, apply!

To be considered, applicants must be a member of WHQR, having made a contribution to the station within the past 12 months. Or, become a new member prior to the application deadline for board consideration. Applicants should send a one page letter, including what attributes you would bring to the board, and no more than two page resume to boardsearch@whqr.org with the subject line "Board Search." For questions or more information, also email boardsearch@whqr.org and use Subject Line “Board Search.” The deadline to apply has been extended to April 9th.

Mary Bradley moved to Wilmington from Los Angeles, CA in May 2007 with her husband Frank and twin baby daughters, Maggie and Kate. In California, Mary had been Drive Director and the producer of Elvis Mitchell's nationally syndicated public radio interview program "The Treatment" for public radio station KCRW for ten years. Mary was raised in Rhode Island and graduated from Boston University. Mary recently served as President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Cape Fear Chapter.
