The Best of Holiday Shorts: A 25th Anniversary Program

For the last 24 years, friends of WHQR have gathered one evening in December in our MC Erny Gallery and around their radios at home to listen to holiday stories read live by entertaining guests. Sadly, the holidays are looking a little different this year. While we won't be able to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Homemade Holiday Shorts in person, we are excited to broadcast a special Best of Holiday Shorts program. Tune in to HQR 91.3 on December 19th at 6pm and again on December 24th at 7pm to listen.

This 2 hour program will compile some of the highlights from our favorite HoHo programs throughout the years. Guests will include Whiskey Creek, Rob Zapple, Big Al Hall, Tony Rivenbark, Aloha U Ukelele Trio, Rhonda Bellamy, Dorothy Rankin, Grenoldo Frasier, Annie Gray Sprunt, Karen Bender, Wiley Cash, Eleanor Stafford, David Vaughn, & Swing Shifters.

Mary Bradley moved to Wilmington from Los Angeles, CA in May 2007 with her husband Frank and twin baby daughters, Maggie and Kate. In California, Mary had been Drive Director and the producer of Elvis Mitchell's nationally syndicated public radio interview program "The Treatment" for public radio station KCRW for ten years. Mary was raised in Rhode Island and graduated from Boston University. Mary recently served as President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Cape Fear Chapter.
