Bob Bannerman

Bob and his wife Uyen Nguyen have been enjoying an active retirement life near Holden Beach in Brunswick County since 2014. Bob’s career was centered on international trade, first as a lawyer with the U.S. International Trade Commission and private practice in Washington, D.C. and Seoul, Korea, and later with the U.S. Dept. Of Commerce where he served as U.S. Commercial Attaché in Beijing, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Rome and Dubai. His passion for travel and learning about other cultures continues in retirement. He also enjoys gardening, cooking, golf and kayaking in the beautiful salt marshes in our area.

When living in the U.S., Bob has always turned to public radio for unbiased and in-depth information about what’s happening at home and abroad. He therefore welcomed the opportunity to serve on WHQR’s Community Advisory Board, where he has worked to introduce more of his Brunswick County neighbors to public radio.
