Brunswick County's 2013 Municipal Elections

Village of Bald Head Island, Mayor:

Incumbent Andy Sayre beat out challenger Larry Lammert.

Joe Ridgeway ran unopposed for the one open Council seat.  

Town of Belville:

Mike Allen, who ran unopposed for Mayor earned 89% of the vote.

And Donna Schardien and Tony Huskey, the only two candidates for council, will serve. 

City of Boiling Spring Lakes:

Craig Caster beat out Charlie Carroll for the Mayor seat in Boiling Spring Lakes.

Mary Stilwell and David Putnam won seats on the Commission.

Town of Leland:

Brenda Bozeman, who ran unopposed garnered 98% of the vote for Mayor.

For Leland Town Council, Pat Batleman and Bob Corriston won the two seats handily. 

Town of Navassa:

Eulis Willis beat out Jerry Merrick for Mayor by a healthy 30%.

Minnie Brown and Ernest Mooring, Jr. will serve on Navassa’s Commission.

Town of Oak Island:

Incumbent Mayor Betty Wallace edged out Challenger Scott Coe by just three percentage points.

Loman Scott and Jim Medlin won the two Council seats.

City of Southport:

Robert Howard ran unopposed and will keep his seat.

Mary H. Childs and Mary Ellen Watts Poole will serve as Aldermen in Ward 1.

In Southport’s Ward 2, Nelson Adams, who ran unopposed will serve.
