Wilmington, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins face-off in game two of the NHL Eastern Conference Championship Thursday.
Maybe North Carolina isn't just a basketball state. With the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Championship for the second time in four years,Buffalo Wild Wings General Manager Dan Dormer says Hurricanes hockey is catching on.
"It's a sea of red in here during the games. It's Hurricanes jerseys, Hurricanes hats, stuff that you didn't see five, six years ago you're starting to see now, so it's definitely caught on."
Dormer says the sports bar and grill was packed for Game One, a close 3-2 win for the Penguins. The Hurricanes won both of their playoff series this season after losing game one. Thursday's face-off is at 7:30pm.
