Wilmington, NC – The Myrtle Beach International Airport says it is now offering a permanent schedule of non-stop flights to the Washington D.C. area.
The airport says in the last year, flights from Myrtle Beach to Washington Dulles were only available during seasonal traveling. But now there will be a permanent schedule of two, daily, non-stop flights.
United Express carrier Trans States Airlines will run the 50-passenger, Embraer 145 Regional Jets.
The Myrtle Beach Airport says it expects the planes to be filled with both business travelers and tourists headed for the links.
What About Wilmington to Washington?
It's been about five years since the last US Airways flight took off between Wilmington and Washington-Regan Airport.
The Wilmington International Airport says those flights were always booked, but the flight slot between Wilmington to Washington was only temporary. The airport says it has been working to get a non-stop flight back into the Washington, D.C. area but the economy making that more difficult.
