Cinematique Presents: Citizen Kane

Cinematique - Citizen Kane

All tickets for Cinematique at Jengo's Playhouse are $10.

Opening night takes place on Friday, April 24, with two screenings of Citizen Kane at 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the same film that launched the very first Cinematique series in 1991 at the original College Road Cinemas. Widely regarded as one of the most influential films ever made, the evening screening will feature an introduction and post-film discussion led by Todd Berliner, film professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

About The Film
Directed by and starring Orson Welles, Citizen Kane is a groundbreaking drama exploring the rise and fall of Charles Foster Kane, a wealthy newspaper tycoon based loosely on William Randolph Hearst. Told via flashbacks, a reporter investigates the meaning of Kane's final word, "Rosebud," uncovering a lonely, arrogant man whose pursuit of power cost him his humanity.

According to Tom Huddleston, arts and culture journalist, "It remains as witty, tragic, unlikely, unique and fascinating as ever."
