The Mustang runs from Monday, May 27 thru Wednesday, May 29. It screens Monday to Wednesday at 7pm with an additional screening on Wednesday at 4pm in Thalian Hall’s Main Theatre.
As Roman, a convict in a rural prison, struggles to escape his violent past, he is required to participate in an "outdoor maintenance" program as part of his state-mandated rehabilitation. Hoping to reconnect with his pregnant daughter, Roman is ready to change. Championed by a no-nonsense veteran trainer and helped by an outgoing fellow inmate and trick rider, Roman is accepted into the selective wild horse training section of the program, where he finds his own humanity in training an especially unbreakable mustang.

A touching and original piece of bare-bones sentimental humanism, and Schoenaerts is terrific in it. Owen Gleiberman Variety
