Wilmington History 101 - Bellamy Mansion

Wilmington History 101 - Bellamy Mansion
Step into history and learn about the Bellamy Mansion and its slave quarters. Designed by architect James F. Post for the wealthy physician and merchant Dr. John D. Bellamy, the 10,000-square-foot, twenty-two room mansion was constructed primarily by skilled, enslaved workers and local, free black artisans between 1859 and 1861.
Some of these workers are believed to be ones to escape via the Orange Street Landing Underground Railroad site. This is a self-guided audio tour. Earphones will be provided.
There is a limited number of spots available. Pre-registration is required.
