Pomegranate Books is celebrating the 102nd anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the constitution, guaranteeing women the right to vote. The League of Women Voters will be on hand with some general materials, voter registration forms, absentee ballot request forms, and information on how voters can check their registration status.
The children's event will include a reading at 11am of Heart on Fire: Susan B. Anthony Votes for President by Ann Malaspina followed by an activity where the children vote for their favorite book character from a slate of candidates.
Refreshments will be served on replicas of Alva Belmont's "Votes for Women" china.
