Founded by artist and dancer Kevin Lee-y Green, Techmoja Dance and Theater Company’s mission is to enliven communities, create a deep sense of cultural understanding, and connect people across boundaries through the creative process and performing arts. Community engagement is also a key component of Techmoja’s mission. Through pre- and post-show talks, studio residencies, public showings, participatory workshops and programs for artists, families, youth and the LGBTQIA communities, Techmoja’s educational programs offer many opportunities for engagement. Techmoja Dance and Theatre Company will be performing “Quiet As It’s Kept”, an exploration of the intersection of historical sexual trauma, southern culture and silence in Black communities.
