SYNOPSIS
Join us for a short history of Ikebana- the art of Japanese Flowering Arranging. We will show you, with floral designs that we have created, where our school, IKENOBO fits into the broader history of Ikebana. Meet local Professors of Ikebana, MaryLee and Lynda, from the local Ikebana Chapter 212.
MARYLEE HAWSE
MaryLee is one of the original founders of the local chapter of Ikebana, Ikebana Chapter 212. It was founded February 2,1979. It was chartered September 22,1981. She is a Professor in the Ikenobo School of Ikebana. She has studied with : Sensei Mary Takahashi, Sensei Muriel Scrivner, and Sensei Emiko Suzuki. MaryLee continues to take advanced classes with Sensei Emiko Suzuki, and teaches Ikenobo classes locally.
LYNDA LOGAN
Lynda has lived in Wilmington for 29 years.She is a member of our local Ikebana Chapter 212. She is a Professor in the Ikenobo School of Ikebana. She has traveled to Japan three times, with her Sensei Emiko Suzuki. While in Japan, she took classes at the Ikenobo School, in Kyoto. Linda has studied with Sensei Muriel Scrivner. Linda continues to take advanced classes with Sensei Emiko Suzuki, and she teaches Ikenobo classes locally.
