Leave No Trace runs from Monday, September 10 thru Wednesday, September 12. It screens Monday and Tuesday at 7pm in Thalian Hall’s Main Stage Theatre.
Wednesday's screenings are cancelled. We are tracking Hurricane Florence's movement and will update here if further dates are cancelled.
From Debra Granik (Winter’s Bone, Stray Dog) comes Leave No Trace, a film based on the book My Abandonment by Peter Rock and inspired by true events. Will (Ben Foster) is an Iraq War veteran with PTSD living off the grid with his 13-year-old daughter in Forest Park, a beautiful nature reserve near Portland, Oregon. They rarely make contact with the world except for Will selling his VA-issued pain medicines to fellow veterans. When one of their interactions with the outside world tips off social services, they are sent on an increasingly erratic journey in search of a place for each to call their own.

From the critics:
Granik lets glimmers of hope fight their way into her unflinching view of a broken America. That's what gives her hypnotic and haunting tale of letting go its quiet power and amazing grace. Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
Well-acted and well-written, calmly presented, and moving, this drama has a ring of truth, despite its extraordinary story. Perhaps that's because it was, after all, inspired by true events. Michael Ordona, Common Sense Media
