CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE CLOSURE: UPDATES, RESOURCES, AND CONTEXT

Welcome to Kelly Kenoyer, WHQR's newest host/reporter

We are thrilled to welcome the newest member of WHQR's news room, Kelly Kenoyer! Kelly got a running start last week, publishing two stories: Wilmington councilman addresses deadly shooting, decries 'derogatory comments' and HUD sends $2.5 million to Wilmington for affordable housing.

In the words of Ben Schachtman, "What really made Kelly shine as a candidate was her interest in doing serious, investigative journalism -- it's tough work, but she's ready to dig in, and that's precisely what our newsroom needs as we continue to grow."

Kelly Kenoyer is an Oregonian transplant new to the East Coast. She attended University of Oregon’s School of Journalism as an undergraduate, and later received a Master’s in Journalism from University of Missouri- Columbia. After a long stint in print journalism, Kenoyer developed audio journalism skills as a podcast producer for Investigative Reporters and Editors, and as a radio reporter at KBIA in Columbia, MO.

Mary Bradley moved to Wilmington from Los Angeles, CA in May 2007 with her husband Frank and twin baby daughters, Maggie and Kate. In California, Mary had been Drive Director and the producer of Elvis Mitchell's nationally syndicated public radio interview program "The Treatment" for public radio station KCRW for ten years. Mary was raised in Rhode Island and graduated from Boston University. Mary recently served as President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Cape Fear Chapter.
