Broadway for a Better World granted nearly 500 tickets to performances at CFCC's Wilson Center in 2018; over a dozen nonprofit organizations received them. The new cycle is here, and non-profits in New Hanover and Pender Counties are encouraged to apply before the January 14 deadline.
The application process is extremely simple, as you can see here.
Broadway for a Better World is also accepting donations. An anonymous donor has agreed to match donations up to $25,000 through the end of 2019--and again in 2020. The number of tickets available for granting is determined by the sum of private donations.
This program is not geared toward arts organization. According to Shane Fernando, Executive & Artistic Director of the Wilson Center, the people involved in every kind of nonprofit organization will benefit from seeing a show at the Wilson Center. Seventy-five percent of tickets granted will go to children, but that leaves twenty-five percent for adults.
Listen above to hear more about the program from Shane and Rhonda Bellamy, Executive Director of the Arts Council of Wilmington. Our extended conversation will be available here later today.
