Communique: Dreams Center "Over The Edge" Fundraiser - One Free Trip Down The Blockade Runner

Matt Carvin, Executive Director of Dreams of Wilmington, is busy preparing for this year's big fundraiser: Over the Edge. This fundraiser is a departure from the longstanding tradition of the Dreams Gala...instead of dressing up for an elegant dinner, Dreams supporters are invited to rappel down the 8-story Blockade Runner Hotel(or support people or teams who are rappelling). The big event is this Saturday, November 19, 7:00am-7:00pm. Sign-up is open through Saturday at the event, and a free rappelling trip is on the table until Tuesday at midnight.

Carvin announced that one person can win a free trip down the Blockade Runner by coming up with a good pitch and posting it on the Dreams-Over the Edge Facebook page (click on the "Discussion" tab to leave your pitch). The pitch should be an argument for why supporting Dreams by rappelling down a building would be important/meaningful to you. Posts must be made by midnight on Tuesday, November 15 to be considered.

Click here to see the folks who are already committed to rappelling for Dreams-including actor/comedian Orlando Jones and Mayor Bill Saffo. The community is invited to the rappelling party at the Blockade Runner on Saturday, November 19 for food, festivity, and to watch the rappellers come down the side of the building.
