CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE CLOSURE: UPDATES, RESOURCES, AND CONTEXT

"Mame" at Thalian Hall: the Power of Personality

Jamie Schraff as Mame

Auntie Mame: An Irreverent Escapade was written 60 years ago by Patrick Dennis, Mame's nephew. The book was on the New York Times best seller list for 112 weeks and spawned the popular movie starring Rosalind Russell.  Now you can see the popular musical created in 1965 on the mainstage of Thalian Hall, produced by Thalian Association.  Director Lance Howell and actor Jamie Schraff(Mame) say the long-standing popularity of the tale springs from Mame's personality; her lust for life and unrelenting optimism continue to inspire audiences decade after decade.

Mame the Musical is onstage through December 20, with performances Thursday-Saturday at 7:30, Sundays at 3:00 (tickets here or call 910-632-2285).  The show features Jamie Schraff as Mame, Bob Workmon as Beauregard Burnside, and Penny Kohut as Vera.
