After a fire devastated the Wilmington YMCA in early February, President Dick Jones and the entire YMCA staff was faced with a daunting task: How could they possibly serve over 7,000 fitness, program, and activity members without a space? Many organizations and individuals have become involved in helping the Y continue to fulfill its mission. Keep your eyes open for the opening of the "Express Y" on Market Street, which will be a new space to use while the old space is renovated. We look forward to having Mr. Jones as a guest again in a few months to get an update; the YMCA may be better than ever before after going through this transformative experience.
