Wilmington, NC – After two years and about $38 million, Topsail High School students finally have their dream school.
Topsail High students are walking through a new set of front doors today. The new building includes a fine arts auditorium and can accommodate up to 1,500 students.
Superintendent for Pender County Schools Allison Sholar says the farewell to trailers was a happy goodbye.
"They were really packed in to the other school with the mobile units and that kind of thing and now we have classroom spaces for every student so we're excited."
The old Topsail High building will eventually be renovated as a middle school and Pender County is planning to open a new elementary school next fall.
