UNCW welcomes The Honorable Aldona Woś, M.D. for the spring 2025 Dare to Learn Lecture. Dr. Woś was appointed to the UNCW Board of Trustees by the UNC Board of Governors in July 2023 to serve a four-year term. Dr. Woś currently serves as a member of the Educational Planning and Programs Committee and the External Affairs Committee. A native of Poland, she is a graduate of the Warsaw Medical Academy and a retired internal medicine and pulmonary medicine physician. She is currently the president at the Institute of World Politics. Previously, she served in many roles including vice chair of the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships, Presidential appointee to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia and Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
