NHC school board to ask for more educator pay, punts on decisions on offering Arabic and LifeVac devices
At Tuesday’s New Hanover County school board meeting, members voted 5-1 to send a letter to legislative leaders to advocate for a base salary of $50,000 for beginning teachers and at least a 5% raise for employees. They also put a hold on approving an Arabic course at Ashley High and the community-funded LifeVac devices.
