About the author: Often referred to as Wilmington's living encyclopedia, Tetterton recently retired from the New Hanover County Public Library where she has worked for over 30 years as the history librarian, becoming the go-to source for everything Wilmington. An early proponent for digital archiving, it is thanks to Tetterton that most of these volumes and pictures can now be accessed online. Tetterton has also been an active volunteer for the Historic Wilmington Foundation and chairs their Historic Plaque Committee. She is also a former member of Wilmington's Historic District Commission and a former Tarheel of the Week. All of Tetterton's books have received rave customer reviews, including the exceptional two volume North Carolina County Fact Book, which she co-authored with her husband.
