Wilmington, NC – The port city is making headlines as being one of the best towns to live in. WHQR's Michelle Bliss reports that Outside Magazine lists Wilmington among 18 other "best towns" in its October issue.
More than 20,000 Outside Magazine readers voted on Facebook for their favorite places to live. Wilmington made the cut along with Charleston, South Carolina and Chattanooga, Tennessee, which took home the ultimate title of "best town ever."
Criteria for making the list included a vibrant nightlife, affordable housing, and job opportunities.
The magazine touts Wilmington's southern charm, 300-year-old harbor, and easy access to water recreation like sailing and deep-sea fishing. The article also cites Wilmington's growing economy, including EUE Screen Gems, the largest movie studio outside California.
