05-02-11 – With the announcement of Osama Bin Laden's death, officials at Camp Lejeune went into Force Protection Condition Bravo, a condition that applies when an increased and more predictable threat of terrorist activity exists.

Officials from Camp Lejeune say that while they acknowledge the death of Bin Laden as a triumph, no celebratory gatherings have taken place. Camp Spokesman Nat Fahy says personnel should expect delays at gate entrances, but otherwise it's business as usual.

"There's been a lot of effort directed at heightening our security measures, evaluating our perimeters, our buildings."

Fahy says while Camp Lejeune celebrates this victory with the rest of the nation, it's important to remember those service members still in harm's way.
