Staff members for the arts education program will move into the new building early next year.
Dreams Associate Director Emily Colin says their new location, on the corner of 10th and Fanning streets, will fall within a part of Wilmington identified as a youth enrichment zone.
The New Hanover County Blue Ribbon Commission on the Prevention of Youth Violence has focused on providing community support to the area.
"We are very thrilled to be moving into this space in the heart of the north side where we can really become a part of the neighborhood and hopefully really integrate the folks who are in the neighborhood into DREAMS programming."
A groundbreaking ceremony next week will commemorate the start of renovating the 1930's parking garage that will soon be home to Dreams.
