Wilmington, NC – The Wilmington Community Based Outpatient Clinic has moved to a new location.
The clinic will still offer primary care and mental health services to area veterans. James Belmont is the spokesperson for the Fayetteville VA Medical Center. He says the new location is part of the VA's push to add clinics in areas with high concentrations of veterans.
"What we're trying to do is avoid having veterans having to drive all the way to Fayetteville for their healthcare, and the population around Wilmington supported a separate community based outpatient clinic."
Belmont says 7,000 veterans are enrolled at the clinic. The new Wilmington VA clinic did not go far - it is still near the hospital.
