Wilmington, NC – A total of 37 residents have tossed their hat into the ring for a slot opening up on the Wilmington City Council.
Applicants range in background from appliance repairman Alvin Rodgers to Chairman of New Hanover County Board of Elections Margaret Haynes.
Other notable applicants are Jan Brewington, recent candidate for the county's Board of Education and Peter Devita, Vice Chairman of Wilmington's Planning Commission.
Ricky Meeks is on his fourth try for a slot on council.
All applicants will be allotted three minutes to make their case before existing council members at Tomorrow's meeting. The council will vote at a future meeting to select Wilmington's next city council member.
