EUE Screen Gems Studios Break Ground on "Dream Stage"

Wilmington, NC –

About 200 guests gathered at EUE Screen Gems to welcome the studios' newest edition: a goliath production stage that will be more than 35,000 square feet.

The stage also boasts the largest water tank in North America which will hold nearly 200,000 gallons of water.

EUE Screen Gems president Chris Cooney says the new developments will stimulate domestic movie production.

"We're feeling very prideful about what you can do here, rather than having to fly around the world to shoot a movie that's really, more often, an American story."

Cooney says the new soundstage will attract large films with special effects and computer-generated imagery.

It will open its doors this spring.
