Homemade Holiday Shorts 2011!

Homemade Holiday Shorts returns this year with an exciting slate of guests, wonderful holiday music and a delicious feast!

Tickets are $30 and available at the door on Sunday evening.

This  Sunday night, December 11th, friends of WHQR will gather in our gallery and around their radios at home to listen to holiday stories read live by a panel of entertaining guests. This year we are thrilled to welcome author Ann Ipock, an award-winning Southern humorist and speaker who is the author of the Life is Short trilogy. She will be joined by WHQR’s own radio personality Jemila Ericson, host of Classical Music and Midday Interviews. Rabbi James Apple who has led congregations for twenty-six years and currently teaches at CFCC, joins us to tell a story about the Christmas he spent as a chaplain aboard a Navy ship. Local renowned storyteller, teacher and actress, Joyce Grear, will be telling a children’s story about Kwanzaa.

The emcee for the evening, Rob Zapple, has been a professional actor for more than 30 years and is on WHQR’s Board of Directors. Dorothy Rankin, known for her directing and stage managing work, is directing the performances.

Live music by Susan Savia and Mark Lynch as Savoire Faire. Food provided by Catered to You and Sugar on Front Street.

Homemade Holiday Shorts will begin at 6pm on Sunday, December 11th.  The reception follows at 7pm.  Doors open at 5:20pm and guests must be seated by 5:50pm. The event is broadcast live on WHQR 91.3fm at 6pm. The MC Erny Gallery at WHQR is located on the third floor of 254 N. Front Street in downtown Wilmington.

Tickets are $30 and available at the door on Sunday evening.
