To continue our 24/7 celebration of Black History Month on Classical WHQR 92.7, Pat Marriott’s Evening Concert, 8-10pm on Monday February 15, will consist entirely of music by Black composers. Some are familiar, some will surprise you, all you will enjoy. Music by Black composers from Nigeria, Guadeloupe, Brazil, and the USA will be heard. The featured work is the orchestral suite “Three Black Kings” by one of the two greatest American musicians of the 20th Century, Duke Ellington. As a bonus, this performance features legendary saxophonist and music educator Jimmy Heath, who called Wilmington his "second home."

Mary Bradley moved to Wilmington from Los Angeles, CA in May 2007 with her husband Frank and twin baby daughters, Maggie and Kate. In California, Mary had been Drive Director and the producer of Elvis Mitchell's nationally syndicated public radio interview program "The Treatment" for public radio station KCRW for ten years. Mary was raised in Rhode Island and graduated from Boston University. Mary recently served as President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Cape Fear Chapter.
