On Friday I visited with Cleve Callison, WHQR’s Station Manager, about his passion for Sacred Harp music. Sacred Harp is a type of shape-note singing that became popular in the mid-1800’s as a way for people who don’t read music to learn hymns and sing together. A local group of Sacred Harp singers is forming; their next meeting will be at Cameron Art Museum on Sunday, July 28th from 2 to 4pm.
