On November 17th, The Awkward Silents played the MC Erny Gallery at WHQR.
A self-described super group, the duo of Jim Ellis and Doug McFarland musically jump between genres and influences, at times a musical concoction of New Orleans piano, Upstate New York guitar and fly-over state vocal harmonies. Jim boasts years of playing in the Wilmington area with a number of groups and artists, both live and in the studio. Doug, despite his advanced years and sometimes youthful appearance, has been playing and writing solo for the past six years, aging him terribly. The two are formally playing as a duo following years of casual encounters, and they're known for their sincere lyrics, thoughtful songcraft and mind-blowing prowess with Photoshop.
