Celebrate Independence Day on 91.3 WHQR with two special programs.
At 7 p.m. Thursday, the Washington D.C. based comedy troupe The Capitol Steps take the stage, skewering public figures from across the political spectrum. The cast of former Congressional staffers and political operatives uses its singular, irreverent, insider-based comedy to help us laugh more at ourselves as well as those trying work the levers of government. Then, at 8 pm, we'll go to the United States Capitol lawn for A Capitol Fourth, an eclectic concert celebrating America's diversity with a 30-year history, that has become a mainstay of public television, now on public radio! This July 4th, the Capitol Steps answer all of the burning questions! What rhymes with Pete Buttigieg? If Joe Biden and Donald Trump have a Twitter exchange at 3am, how fast can the Capitol Steps write a song about it? And if Vladimir Putin appears shirtless on the radio, does it violate the FCC's decency standards?
Tune in for our traditional Fourth of July radio show!
