This bad boy has over 200,000 miles on him and our mechanic says he doesn’t have much life left. The AC is long gone and the truck is about to kick the bucket! You might be wondering why a radio station needs to have a reliable truck. Here’s the scoop: our transmitter (which is how we get the radio to you) is located down a 2 mile bumpy gravel and dirt road. It gets muddy and it’s rough going, but we often need to get out there for regular maintenance and repairs.
So we’re putting a call out to our wonderful community: do you have a truck you could donate to your local public radio station?
Remember: 90% of our funding comes from our local community. We rely on the generosity of our listeners to provide quality programming for all. Help keep WHQR running strong by donating your truck today!
It doesn’t have to be pretty, but it does need to have 4WD so George can keep our transmitter up and running. Do you have a spare truck or a connection to someone who could help us out? Let us know! Reach out to mbradley@whqr.org.
