NPR's Don Gonyea to Visit Wilmington, NC for WHQR's Annual Fundraising Luncheon

NPR

WHQR is proud to announce that NPR Political Correspondent, Don Gonyea will be joining us for our annual Fundraising Luncheon on Wednesday, April 13th!

Grand Ballroom at the Wilmington Hilton Riverside

Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 12 noon - 1:30pm

An invitation to join a WHQR table and more information are available by emailing Mary Bradley at mbradley@whqr.org. We ask for a suggested donation of $100 or more per guest at the luncheon (payable by cash, check or credit card).

In this election year, a super star political correspondent as the guest for the WHQR Fundraising Luncheon was a must – and we found the best, Don Gonyea. Heard currently on NPR and WHQR, Gonyea has enormous experience covering politics and presidents.

A native of Monroe, Michigan, Gonyea is an honors graduate of Michigan State University. In 1986, Gonyea got his start at NPR reporting from Detroit on labor unions and the automobile industry. Over the years Gonyea has contributed to PBS's NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, the BBC, CBC, AP Radio, and the Columbia Journalism Review. He periodically teaches college journalism courses. He has won numerous national and state awards for his reporting. He was part of the team that earned NPR a 2000 George Foster Peabody Award for the All Things Considered series "Lost & Found Sound."

More information about Don Gonyea can be found HERE.
