NHRMC Physician Group Takes Steps to Protect Patients And Staff

The New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s Physician Group has implemented some operational changes to protect patients, staff, and the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The changes include more virtual visit options and expanded safety procedures.

For patients concerned they may have COVID-19, the medical center will do an initial screening via a video visit to check if there’s a need for them to come in for further testing.

In addition, patients can register and check-in for their appointments without leaving the car. The patient will wait in their car until they are notified over their phone that the exam room is ready, so they do not have to sit in a waiting room.

Also, they are now scheduling well and sick patients at different times, so they do not overlap.
