In the primary race for New Hanover County Board of Education, three republicans and three democrats will compete in November.
WHQR’s Sara Wood reports both parties have an incumbent winner in last night’s election.
In the democratic race, Emma Saunders, Karen Beatty and incumbent Elizabeth Redenbaugh all move to November’s ballot. Redenbaugh says in her campaign this time around, she’s had more hands-on-deck.
“I didn’t have the grassroots support that I have today, and so that’s been very humbling actually to have that support and have people that willing to give of their time and their talent to help you.”
Republican candidates Lisa Estep, Tammy Covil and Incumbent Jeannette Nichols will also move to the general election in the fall.
