Snow is in the forecast again for the Cape Fear Region. But it’s not expected to be a repeat of the winter blast we had two weeks ago.

The forecast for Wednesday is cloudy, with some snow starting in the afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, it shouldn’t be much.

Reid Hawkins is with the weather service in Wilmington.

“What we’re expecting at the coast, like Wilmington, Burgaw and Shallotte, is rain in the afternoon changing over maybe to a little bit of snow by about 6 o’clock or so, and it will quickly end.”

Hawkins doesn’t expect any ice or sleet with this storm. He says it won’t be a repeat of two weeks ago.

“Yeah, the temperatures aren’t expected to stay as cold for as long, with temperatures back into the sixties this weekend.”
