Memorial Day: Restaurants And Beaches See Big Numbers

May 25, 2020

It was a holiday weekend and the official start of summer, and for residents of coastal Carolina it was back to beaches as usual. In two weeks or so, we’ll know if the celebration was premature.

North Carolina beaches were packed on this Memorial Day weekend.

At Sunset Beach in Brunswick County, the mood was one of celebration.

Kyle, Brent, Journey and Syndee spent Sunday on the sand and in the water. The gusts of wind did not soak their spirits.

“You know. It's been a fun, fun time.”

“Yeah. It's really nice not to have to wear a mask right now. You don't have to ask someone, again, what did you say??”

“So it's really nice we like it!”

Many of the groups maintained their distance from one another here at Sunset Beach. However no masks were to be seen.
