Zach Hanner, Artistic Director of TheatreNow, has adapted another book by Celia Rivenbark into a stage play. We're Just Like You, Only Prettier (Rivenbark's most popular book) is onstage at TheatreNow on Friday and Saturday nights now through July 30. The book is a series of humorous vignettes told through her unique southern comedic perspective. For folks only familiar with Rivenbark's humor column--please note that this work is a bit racier than is fit to print in the newspaper. Not for children.
Guests can make this experience an evening of dinner theatre by choosing from the show-specific menu, which includes BBQ sliders, watermelon fries, fancy wild rice blue corn cake, crab cakes with sun-dried tomato tartar, and more (including vegetarian selections).
