CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE: Updates, resources, and context

CoastLine: Wilmington Growing as Foodie Destination; Breweries Boost Food Truck Biz

Wake N Bake Donuts
Wake N Bake Donuts will give away a free donut with every purchase September 30th to celebrate one year in business.

When was the last time you visited a locally-owned restaurant that didn’t offer some regionally-sourced ingredient?  Some would say the farm-to-table phenomenon is a full-blown element of the North Carolina restaurant landscape – along with the explosion of craft beer, cocktails, and boutique donuts.  Wilmington boasts a foodie scene – in spite of serious challenges facing new restaurateurs.

During this edition of CoastLine, we explore emerging food trends in the Cape Fear region with two culinary experts:

Jessica Maurer covers the local restaurant scene through her weekly column the Restaurant Round-Upin the Greater Wilmington Business Journal.   She also contributes to Wilma and Wilmington Magazines.

Paul Stephen came to the StarNews as a photographer, but it didn’t take long for his passionate paeans to lunch to catapult him onto the food-writing staff.  Because he writes about a wide range of lifestyle issues, he is the self-described Domestic Goddess of the StarNews, and he is a contributor to the Port City Foodies Blog
