A grieving father experiences the absurd circumstances around the death of his son in this latest critical reflection on military culture from Israeli filmmaker Samuel Maoz (Lebanon). Michael and Daphna Feldmann (Lior Ashkenazi and Sarah Adler) have barely begun to accept the horrific news about their son, when they discover that all is not what it seems.

From the Critics
“Graced by superb performances, especially from Ashkenazi and Adler, this gentle but devastating portrait bursts with integrity and tough honesty, even in its most lighthearted moments.” Ann Hornaday, Washington Post
“In this portrait of a family, a society and a nation trapped in cycles of unwinnable conflict, Maoz has made a film both painfully poignant and rich in mocking humor as dark as a mine shaft.” Colin Covert, Minneapolis Star Tribune
