Village residents will see a new slate of council members. The two incumbents running for reelection, Gene Douglas and Bob Helgesen, lost their seats to top vote-getters Kit Adcock, John May, and John Pitera.
In Boiling Spring Lakes, Mayor Craig Caster will serve another term – after winning nearly 55% of the vote and leaving his two opponents, Barbara Glidden and David Putnam, to settle in at 24 and 20% of the vote, respectively. Mark Stewart and David Crawford will fill the two open Commissioner seats.
The Town of Bolivia will see the uncontested Ella Jane Marston serve as Mayor; Warren Knox, Jeff Gibby, Robert Mercer, and Dewey Smith all won seats on the Board of Aldermen.
Retired Southport Police Chief Jerry Dove will take the helm of City government as Mayor; Todd Coring, Rick Pukenas, Jim Powell, and Karen Mosteller are filling the open seats on Southport’s Board of Aldermen.
The Town of St. James elected Jean Tone, Don Lund, Bill Connor, and Bruce Maxwell to their Board.
