October 15th is the first day of one-stop early voting, which continues through October 31st. WHQR spoke with New Hanover County’s Board of Elections Director about what you need to know.
County Elections Director Rae Hunter-Havens says there’s still time to register and vote:
“They can actually present themselves at any of the nine one-stop sites we have. What they will need to do is to show proof of residence.”
And she says, UNCW students who live on campus can also vote at one-stop sites if they bring their student id, and have proof from the registrar’s office of their enrollment status. One-stop sites will also have lists of enrolled students.
Hunter-Havens also says poll workers will be wearing masks and gloves, and sanitation specialists are there to ensure cleaning protocols.
