CoastLine: Michael Isikoff On Russian-Sponsored Conspiracy Theories In American Dialogue

Yahoo! News
Conspiracyland is a 6-part podcast by Yahoo! News on the conspiracy theories surrounding the murder of Seth Rich.

Michael Isikoffis the Chief Investigative Correspondent at Yahoo! News.  He’s also the host of a six-part podcast, Conspiracyland, that explores how a fictional theory grew up around the murder of Seth Rich, a 27-year-old employee of the Democratic National Committee.

Michael Isikoff has also written three New York Times bestselling books:   Uncovering Clinton: A Reporter’s Story and Hubris: The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal, and the Selling of the Iraq War.  His most recent book – out in 2018 and co-written with David Corn, is called Russian Roulette: The Inside Story Of Putin’s War On America And The Election Of Donald Trump.

On this edition, we’ll hear about his investigations into the Seth Rich conspiracy theory and his work on the Russian election meddling case that led him to conclude:  “[Donald Trump] aided and abetted Moscow’s attack on American democracy.”

And we’ll find out how the intelligence community, long regarded for its apolitical operations, has, of late, been suspect to both Republican and Democratic interests for covert partisanship.  We’ll also explore the panoply of so-called news sources available and why it's important for news consumers to do a better job vetting those sources.

Michael Isikoff joins us from NPR in Washington, D.C.
