03-30-11 – For those unable to attend the 2011 Women's History Month Celebration at 6:30 tonight at the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh, the program will be streamed live on the Council for Women website.
The event will focus on the social barriers and gender biases that continue to block women's participation and progress in STEM fields--Science, Technology, Engineering and Math--and what can be done to turn the tide.
It will feature several women who have achieved successful STEM careers. Speakers will discuss a study by the American Association of University Women, which finds that while girls become less confident of their math and sciences abilities in middle school, their outcomes are different with dedicated support.
Watch the 2011 Women's History Month Celebration's live stream starting at 6:30 tonight.
