Tossing the Holiday Fallout

Wilmington, NC – If you're tossing the Christmas tree and gift wrapping, here's a look at where to take it.

In Wilmington, residents can put their trees on the curb for regular pick up.

Boxes should be flattened to be recycled. And while wrapping paper can be recycled, ribbons and bows cannot, and should be dumped in the trash.

New Hanover County
Trees will be recycled in New Hanover County at: Smith Creek Park, Myrtle Grove Middle School, Diversified Biomass and the county landfill.

Trees accepted through January 31st.

All used wrapping paper and cardboard boxes can be dumped at New Hanover County recycling centers at: Market Street next to Blair Elementary School, Moose Lodge 343 in Monkey Junction, Lowes Food at Murrayville, Castle Hayne next to the Hardees, County landfill.

Brunswick County
In Brunswick County, residents can dump their trees at the main landfill on Galloway Road near Bolivia.

Pender County
Pender County's putting out bins for Christmas trees at: Rocky Point Collection Center, Burgaw Collection Center, Willard Collection Center and Hampstead Collection Center.

Trees accepted through January 11th.
