CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE: Updates, resources, and context

POSTPONED: The Spring Pledge Drive

WHQR Public Media is suspending the Spring Pledge Drive as of 3pm on March 13, 2020 due to an abundance of caution related to the coronavirus. WHQR hopes to reschedule the pledge drive for later in the spring to raise the funds needed for operations.

Station Manager Kurt Wilson says, “The health and safety of our volunteers, our staff, and our community is the number one priority today and moving forward. We thank each and every one of our members and listeners who contributed to our abbreviated pledge drive and we will finish our fundraising campaign when the time is appropriate. The WHQR news team will continue to provide comprehensive news coverage to Wilmington and the Cape Fear Region."

Thank you to all our volunteers and everyone who has supported WHQR thus far in this Pledge Drive - the pre-drive campaign and our day and a half on the air. We also thank the businesses who have provided challenges and donated food. One mini-bonus - we will draw the winner of the Apple Extravaganza Sweepstakes tonight (and offer another one when we resume the pledge drive). So, your chances to win are great! The winner will be announced soon.
