The WHQR Gallery is back!
Call For Artists for the WHQR Gallery!
We are pleased to announce that we will re-open the WHQR Gallery on April 23, 2010 (more details to come). Our studios and gallery are located in The Warwick Building, built in 1898, in downtown Wilmington. The WHQR Gallery features natural pine floors and an exposed brick wall - original to the building -that make up a warm gallery space, perfect for displaying art.
We are currently accepting submissions from artists for the next six shows that will run through late 2011. Artwork must be two dimensional and able to hang on a wall. Juried artist selection will take place in late February. Interested artists must submit at least three examples of artwork by email to mary@whqr.org by February 24, 2010. We ask that submissions also include an artist statement or resume and any suggestions and/or ideas for an exhibit at the WHQR Gallery.
Art exhibits will rotate every three months.
WHQR will host an opening reception and two additional receptions on Fourth Friday nights. The artist is expected to pay for 50% of the reception costs. It is expected that the majority of the pieces will be available for purchase. WHQR will retain 35% of the sale price as a commission. The Gallery has approximately 900 square feet of total floor space. There is roughly 66 feet of linear wall space, and the ceiling height is approximately 12 feet.
We look forward to seeing you!
