Where to Watch Obama Inauguration

Wilmington, NC – A host of viewings will be held around Wilmington celebrating the inauguration of President-Elect Barack Obama.

There's a free viewing of the inauguration at UNCW's Lumina Theater. Doors open at 11:00am Tuesday.

Jengo's Playhouse will play host to a free viewing starting at 10:00 am, organized by Cucalorus and The Full Belly Project.

The 100 Black Men of Coastal North Carolina, The Wilmington Journal, and the International Longshoreman's Union are inviting people to a free gathering at the ILA Union building on South Fifth Street in downtown Wilmington.

Max Allen is President of The 100 Black Men of Coastal North Carolina. He says, "We're looking at a very diverse group of people coming. It's open to anyone that wants to be a part of it, so we welcome people to view this historic occasion with us."

While everyone is welcome at the viewing, Allen says it would be helpful for people to RSVP with the Wilmington Journal. The doors open Tuesday morning at 11:30.
